I have 12 years of experience teaching all types of Group Fitness at the YMCA, Michigan Athletic Club, Dr. Aajay Shah's office, and my Studio. I have been a Personal coach/counselor for Believe To Achieve, weight loss series for Women, and nutrition lecture series ( Nutrition for Heart health) for Dr. Aajay Shah, cardiologist.
 
A recent love and passion is teaching Women to protect themselves by teaching full contact self defense. ( see more on link In the News).
My passion is working with beginners and encouraging them on a path to lifestyle change. It is very rewarding to see clients become more fit, eliminate medications for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and become joyful as they share their doctor's congratulations! Also, I love hearing reports of clients' everyday lives made easier through more flexibility , strength, and weight loss. I was facing heart surgery to repair a valve disorder. Dr. Shah stated that if I lost weight and improved heart function through exercise, I may be able to avoid surgery but would always need to take heart medication. Guess what?? After losing the bulk of my extra weight, staying absolutely consistent to my daily exercise and relaxation regimen, I went off my meds after 3 years.  Dr. Shah called me a poster child for what he preaches everyday! I decided to become trained to spread the health!! I wanted to make my classes challenging, yet non-intimidating for beginners. I did that at the MAC and my classes in the 50+ group grew from 6 people to 40 who regularly attend. My specialty is giving modifications in all classes for all fitness levels!  I decided to bring my philosophy to my home town at Power&Grace Yoga (formerly Tina Brookhouse Fitness Studio). I hope you find having the studio here is convenient and helps you "commit to be fit!"

We are so pleased to be moving to the beautifully renovated Commons of Williamston room #34. 
We will be settled into our new space and starting classes there May 15! We are happy to add more yoga under our new name: Power & Grace Yoga and Personal Training. Check out the new schedule! Fall schedule will be posted by mid August
